Inside an estate review

A realistic example — what an estate review turns up, and why the catalog matters.

Illustrative example

Say you inherit ~165 coins in a relative's safe — "old silver," no idea what's real or what it's worth. Here's how an estate review breaks it down, every coin valued at live spot:

110 common 90% silver dimes, quarters & halves$640
28 Morgan & Peace dollars — a few better dates$1,350
1 Carson City Morgan, 1882-CC — the surprise$210
1 $10 Indian Head gold — bottom of the box$2,500
~25 wheat cents, buffalo nickels & foreign$70
165 coins catalogued~$4,770

Two coins were 57% of the value — and they sat in the same box as the $2 pieces. That's what the catalog is for: you stop guessing and know exactly which to keep, which to sell, and what each is worth.

Questions

Do I have to mail you my coins?

Never. You only send photos — your coins stay safe with you the entire time. We send a simple 1-page guide so any phone gets great shots.

What if my coins are in flips, capsules, or slabs?

That's fine — shoot them right through the holder. For the cleanest look we'll point out which non-graded coins are worth popping out, but we work with whatever you send.

How accurate are the values?

We price at live metal spot plus recent market comps for the date and grade. They're good-faith estimates to guide your selling — not a certified appraisal.

Do you sell my coins for me?

No — you keep full control and 100% of the proceeds. We make them sale-ready with copy-paste eBay listings (titles, prices, descriptions) so you can list in minutes.

How long does it take?

About 3–5 days for Pocketbook, 5–7 for Collection, or 7–10 for Estate after your photos arrive. Need it sooner? Add 48-hour rush at checkout.

What kinds of coins do you cover?

US and world, any era — numismatic, bullion, junk silver, and bars. More than 500 pieces? Reach out for a custom quote.

What exactly do I get?

A hosted digital coin book, an inventory spreadsheet, and values at live spot. Collection and Estate add a key-date scan, the eBay Listing Kit, and a PDF export.

What if I'm not happy?

We'll revise your book free until it's right. Still not happy? We'll mail you a real Buffalo nickel — on us. We're collectors; we'd rather make it right.

Know what you have. Sell the winners.
