1891-CC Morgan Dollar

Did you know
A Philadelphia teacher named Anna Williams posed for Liberty in 1876. She agreed only if her name stayed secret. A newspaper found her out two years later.
What's on it
Liberty faces left in a cap, with cotton and wheat in her hair. On the back, an eagle spreads its wings, holding an olive branch and arrows.
When it was made
An 1878 law ordered two million silver dollars struck every month. America could not mine silver that fast, so the Mint bought some from overseas.
The Carson City mint
Carson City ran from 1870 to 1893 on Nevada silver. Its first coin press still works, inside the same building.
